Old guys participation change social media?

At the former sessions, we learned that older generation do not participate in social media than younger generation. But, as people are getting older especially after retirement, people are likely to have social connections.
If older people can handle social media more easily than now, more older people could join social media and enjoy it, which would lead to activate communication in the social media, generate new business, and so on. It have infinite chances in the social media, I guess.

  1. Even though Facebook is still more popular with younger audiences, it is very quickly growing with older segments. As a matter of fact adults over 55 are the fastest growing segment (in part due to full saturation of the younger markets)

  2. Very interesting. And quite intuitive really. My own parents social life has gotten busier and busier as they age. One concern I would have is the adaptability. Facebook today... but will older segments participate in new tools/platforms as they emerge? Can you keep teaching old dogs new tricks?
